With just a year to dig in to his presidency, what have we learned about President Obama. So far, and perhaps for the remainder of his presidency - he is a big picture guy. And he definiteley calls all the shots. and some of us don't like it - CBC, GOP, name another group. some of us wish that he sweats the small stuff, or not so small stuff according to the CBC. all i will say to the CBC is outsmart him. stop nagging, and deploy a strategy... pull your braintrust together and outsmart him. but you get no pity from Bellini. And neither do you Mr. President. Bipartisanship will not save the day, hence healthcare reform would not have taken this long. So, if you can get it cool, but if not we expect you to get the job done. You're good for going solo, but Bellini would prefer you light the fire under the a$$es of your Cabinet too. I need to see them flex on issues ala Nancy Pelosi. You will be forever indebted to Madame Speaker for cultivating the votes.

GOP, you're bettin' on your disenchanted group bringin' home the bacon in November. But November is a long way from here and you're forgetting about a contingent you need to bring the votes - INDEPENDENTS comme moi. And you're consistent track record of abstaining from votes and lack of engagement on issues is not governance... so that's just something to think about McConnell and Boehner... as you pursue your strategy.

and Netanyahu and company, you really chose an intersting time to flex. be careful 'cuz I wouldn't want to be on the bad side of Secretary Clinton or Mr. President. They will outsmart your a$$ and I don't think you want the wrath of Hillary. the Brits already fired a top level diplomat for fcuking with your shenanigans. hmmm... it will be interesting to see where the Middle East goes from here.

and who would have thought of the day, where the dollar may began to make headway against the Euro. Thank you Greece and Portual too!!! Just the thought of you renegging on your financial obligations, has Europe in a tizzy. Don't take it personal Greece, but Germnay don't like you. The US isn't putting on its dancing shoes either, 'cuz we thought the weak value of the dollar would augment our export sector... but if the dollar and the Euro become neck and neck, we can nix that idea...

spineless Steele

I voted for him.
I gave his ass a chance.
Felt like he had a bright future, albeit Republican and all.

But now, I know for sure my ass has been duped! How can a man well over 6 feet 2 inches have no spine at all. His name is truly a misnomer, because Michael Steele ain’t built that tough.


I am still trying to understand why within 24 hours of callin’ “a spade a spade”, Steele reneged and retracted his statement by apologizing to Rush Limbaugh. Steele, I thought you ran the RNC? You claimed the GOP had to widen its tent and become more inclusive rather than exclusive.

During your Maryland senate race, you vowed to make sure minorities got a slice of the economic pie. I was sold! I tend not to be a single-issue voter, but I was for that race. The cacophony of chatter on other state issues didn't matter at that point. You recently told US News & World Report your plans, "to extend the party's outreach to African-Americans and Hispanics and their media outlets on a permanent basis, not just at election time. He wants to better explain the GOP's conservative philosophy of optimism, opportunity, and economic growth to minority voters and "make folks understand that we'll walk that walk with them."
Well, why walk backwards, let alone walk at all?

Steele you’re supposed to represent change, even the GOP had to concede the fact that a much needed makeover of the party was in order. You’re supposed to be delivering the change, you’re supposed to be the engineer behind the party’s evolution. You know how many folks I received flack from, for voting for you… I kept tellin’ them we got to give the brotha a chance. We have got to have folks on both sides of the table. Lawd, why are you provin’ folks right.

Upon the dawn of the 2nd millennium, I used that term to characterize the Democratic Party – now the term can aptly be applied to the Republican Party.

You GOPers don’t know what to do with yourselves. You let Dubya suckerpunch you into this war. The hawks were feelin’ themselves a lil’ too much. You chose not to reflect on history and remember what Daddy Senior did not do – but I digress.

We have 4 candidates vying for the Republican nomination: Senator John McCain (AZ), Mitt Romney (former governor of Massachusetts), Rudy Guiliani (former mayor of NYC), and Mike Huckabee (former governor of Arkansas).

So, all four candidates have dismissed the black vote and chose not to show up at any of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) or Tavis Smiley sponsored forums – black republicans you’re not giving me much to feel buoyant about this discussion.

I’ll start with the “Maverick” – McCain. Back in 2000, while still in undergrad, and receptive to a “non-traditional” candidate – McCain I was rooting for you. Until, I caught a reality check from Dr. Ronald Walters – a veteran political scientist, who basically reminded me not to believe all the hype. So, Bellini had to do her homework and realized that although McCain bucked the trend on immigration issues, military tactics during war, and campaign finance reform. . . he is still a HAWK! hmmmmphhh. . . ‘nuff said. Surprisingly enough, McCain won South Carolina.

On to Flip-floppin’ Mitt. You gotta love a true politician to the core – he’ll say anything to pick up vote (he reminds of the 1st black president – you all just love). The only thing I would give him a shot at is reviving the economy a Harvard MBA should be good for something (yes Bellini feels we are in a recession – hold on to your jobs and count those pennies).

Huckabee! I can’t believe you’re still hanging in there. After Tsunami Tuesday, we’ll learn your fate. The whirlwind of activity might just take you under unless Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Virginia keep you grounded.

Guiliani your race may start and end with Florida. Risky strategy. Your claim to fame is that you’re the only one that can beat Hillary. I hope the Sunshine state shows you their behind! Your rap sheet from your mayoral days is too long, all 50 states can't be put in your hands.

Black republicans you should feel bored, you don’t have much to ra-ra about. There's no Newt, Limbaugh is disillusioned with you guys, the sittin' president is cryptonite. This will be a lame year for you guys. The “chicken runnin’ around with no head" syndrome sucks!

Checkmate!

It was 1992, when the first Clinton’s campaign was resuscitated by New Hampshire’s primary and the Granite State gave his wife the same fate last night. Ahhh. . . but when that black guy Barack made a breakthrough; you guys didn’t have a clue. (You guys were thrown a curve ball last week – good ‘cuz you needed one. Let’s get one thing straight, I am conspiracy theorist #1; so if I hadn’t drawn those conclusions – you shouldn’t either [smiles, dark n’ stormy]). But the game’s not over, it’s only gotten more interesting. Pundits want to hide under a rock be’cuz they’ve been wrong every turn, the “inside beltway” crew defined as media living inside the Capital Beltway are all wrong. Wrong about Iowa, wrong in New Hampshire – good lesson for folks. √ for race

What’s next. . .

South Carolina

Half of the population is black, now South Carolinians vote for the candidate who you really like. I mean it. Ain’t nothing better than the mainstream squirming in their seat ‘cuz they can’t call the outcome of South Carolina’s primary. Let’s make folks sweat. Another curveball is nice, we should be expecting the unexpected in ’08. For those of you that could not fathom the curveball that happened last week, I’ll put things in perspective for you.

Was Bellini surprised that Obama did well in Iowa – NO; was she surprised Hillary came in for third place – hell yea! Although Obama’s campaign appeared to fizzle 3 months ago, at the end of the day money talked. During fundraising time, prior to the primaries, he banked 30 million dollars for the initial reporting quarter. Giving money to folks is not a hollow gesture. If folks were all rhetoric and no action, no one would have given him money – you feel me; Obama earned more than Hillary during that quarter—that should have told you something then.

Now you folks need to find your own voice, your own issues, determine your priorities, be proactive and check candidate’s website and stop waiting to be forcefed shit. The exercise called voting is cerebral intensive it requires research, deliberation, conversation. Stop being lazy!!!

I can’t stress it enough, 2008 is the year to expect the unexpected. For my Republicans, I won’t leave you in the dust. I’ll provide you some analysis too. All types of things are happening with your candidates. In the past, Americans have been in a trance, and now folks are waking up – metaphorically speaking at least I hope. It’s anybody’s race for the taking on the GOP side. McCain might get some legs, just to lose them again in South Carolina? Huckabee is that irritating thorn to Romney, Guiliani’s backside – can’t seem to get rid of him. All those bible-toting folks just love that boy. Ahhh. . . I promise to break it down on the GOP side. . . I can’t get enough. . . stay tuned

P.S. on a funny note
She was crying and stuff. . . Hillary you can’t cry when someone hurts your feelings – it’s life. You put a shell on for so long and it turned so many off (me included). I want to think its genuine, but I’m not convinced. You were lucky. White woman felt one of their own being attacked and they struck back with the ballot. √ for gender
